2/15/2024 0 Comments FreeCAD 0.21.1 instal the new![]() ![]() Voila! It worked! Now i have the extra options in the path workbench. "/usr/local/lib/python3.11/dist-packages/opencamlib.libs/" to "/usr/lib64/freecad/lib/opencamlib.libs/" "/usr/local/lib/python3.11/dist-packages/opencamlib/" to "/usr/lib64/freecad/lib/ocl/" ![]() As per this thread: viewtopic.php?t=18017&start=20 I moved the directories: That worked and installed opencamlib in the directory: "/usr/local/lib/python3.11/dist-packages/". You may need to expand the assets drop-down to see the build for your OS. Builds to install FreeCAD 0.21 are below in the release assets. "pip3 install opencamlib -break-system-packages" The FreeCAD team is happy to announce the release of FreeCAD 0.21 Details about this release can be found on the wiki v0.21 Release Page. That sounds pretty ominous, but I tried it anyway: ![]() One reference mentioned installing with pip so I tried that and got an error: "externally-managed-environment " but it mentioned that I could override with "-break-system-packages" switch. I tried for hours to get a clean opencamlib compile from githud source (both aewallin and peterlama) with no success. I have it working, but probably not the ideal solution. I'm on Debian bookworm with latest apt upgrades. So what about those of us who compile from source? I can't seem to get any information on how to enable OCL with the main git branch. What IS needed is to EnableExperimentalFeatures, as detailed in the wiki.įrankly, this requirement should have been removed a long time ago, but it persists. That requirement was removed several years ago. The wiki is outdated in that it says to install OCL. There is no need at all to "install" OCL. ![]()
